Every home in Singapore has a drawer like it. An old Nokia. A pager that hasn't beeped since the '90s. A cassette player with someone's mixtape still inside.
They stopped being gadgets a long time ago. Now they're memories.
The National Museum needed a reason for people to come back. So we pulled that drawer out and turned forty years of everyday tech into rooms you could step inside. From payphones you could listen in on, to a darkroom where you waited to find out if you'd blinked. After dark, the museum turned into an escape room, with the clues hidden in an app.
Parents brought their kids to show them what a typewriter was. Grown-up kids brought their parents to pose for old-school portraits.
Some things are worth switching back on.
P.S.I'm still on an iPhone 7. It still works. That's all I really ask of anything.
